Here's What Happened Before Beast Tamer Episode 7
Tania, Rein, and Kanade reached the Lost Woods. After observing the surroundings, they noted that it was quite a gloomy place.
Moreover, the place was dark even though it was a bright afternoon.
Tania suggested burning the entire forest for good. Rein objected and stated that the forest is full of animals.
Rein remarked that it is the forest where they can find the Shield of Truth, which can only be used by the hero.
The trio noted that the Lost Woods was growing at an alarmingly rapid pace.
Rein mentioned that the map that Arios made for him was unusable because of the changing landscape of the Lost Woods.
The episode also revealed how Tania made Arios and the rest of the Hero Party go down on their knees and apologize to Rein.
Kanade asked Rein if he wanted to forgive them and the latter agreed and said that they should and that he was feeling refreshed.
Arios swallowed his pride and shared the problem with Rein.
He told Rein and the others that a monster was likely holding the Shield of Truth in the deepest part of the Lost Woods.
He stressed how important the Shield of Truth is in order to beat the Demon King.
Arios wanted Rein and his team to get it as soon as possible. Kanade did not like Arios’ tone, so she yelled at him for being arrogant.
Back at the Lost Woods, Kanade told Rein that she was not pumped for this quest.
Tania joined Kanade and said that she can defeat the Demon King alone.
Kanade asked Rein if he was sure he was not forcing himself into doing this quest.
Rein decided to modify their plan. He summoned a bird and assimilated his soul with it. He asked Tania and Kanade to guard his body.
Rein, in his bird form, flew away and managed to get an aerial view of the Lost Woods. He could figure out a route that connected to the deepest part of the woods.
He returned and they started going inside the forest. However, they soon learned that they were merely circling around.
Tania used her Material Search magic to guide them inside the maze-like forest.
They located a tree that had illusionary magic placed in its core, which is why they were getting lost time and again.
Tania explained that illusionary magic forms a wave that reaches a massive area and gets inside the target’s brain.
She noted that it was more like a barrier than magic. Tania suggested that they should split the tree into two and cut the barrier.
She added that if they can pull it out, they can continue further. Rein asked Tania if she could dispel the barrier.
She said it is a strong magic that she can dispel, but it will take a really long time.
Kanade was getting impatient, so she attempted to pull the tree down.
However, a mysterious voice told them to leave.
All of a sudden, an ultimate species emerged out of the tree, and it was a fairy.
Around 200 years ago, fairies stopped appearing before humans.
When a clash happened between humans and fairies, the latter hid deep in the forest where humans couldn’t reach them.
Rein tried to befriend the fairy but she asked them to leave. She warned them that if they don’t leave, she will show them her true power.
They were confused because fairies were supposed to be gentle creatures, but they realized that they got too close to the barrier for her liking.
Tania told the fairy that they are racing against time and must break the barrier.
She told them they were caught off guard the first time, but she was ready to counter her magic.
But Rein wanted to talk to the fairy alone as he was confident in his negotiation skills.
However, when he tried to talk with her, the fairy told him that she will eliminate him.
Rein was ready to get hit by her arrows but was not ready to give up.
Rein admitted that he's a human but not all humans are barbarians.
The fairy was not in the mood to listen to his lecture as she launched another attack, but this time, Kanade and Tania saved him from the arrows.
The fairy was intrigued by her opponents’ actions and decided to drop her hostility.
She introduced herself as Sora, and it was revealed that the barrier was set to block the way to the Fairy Village.
She revealed that her people protect the Shield of Truth.
When Sora found out that the shield was a much-needed accessory to defeat the Demon King, she gave it to Rein.
He offered to help her with anything she wanted, but Sora turned down his offer and noted that she was following the age-old pact between the fairies and the Last Hero.
Tania and Kanade attempted to leave after Sora handed over the shield, but Rein went back to Sora and asked if something was troubling her.
She was hesitant but Rein and his comrades convinced her to open up.
Sora started sharing about her twin sister, Runa, who was also protecting and maintaining the barriers around the Fairy Village.
Things were fine until they went out of the barrier for personal reasons and faced a monster connected with the Demon King's army.
Rein then revealed that the monster Sora and Runa encountered was Shadow Knight.
He is a weaker monster compared to the ultimate species but has tricks up his sleeve.
Shadow Knight can use magical nullification to make only physical attacks that harm him.
Sora confirmed what Rein said and revealed that the Shadow Knight ordered her to lower the barrier.
Out of fear, she ran away and was instructed by the leader to abandon Runa.
After hearing Sora's story, Rein vowed to help save Runa from the evil clutches of the Shadow Knight.
The episode ended with Sora embracing Rein as she wept.
